Spread my ash soaked wings to the moon
Leaving the broken woods behind, forever
Soaring into the blackened sky, no life here
As I keep nearing the darkened stars
Land on the coast, stare to the black sea
I feel the sand beneath my feet, stained
I long to curl into myself, and embrace darkness
To bury myself in the blood soaked sands
As I pass the skeletons of what once was
Tears fall down my face, freezing on my cheeks
I never saw the world, when beauty reigned
Only the bones of the past, burning beneath
I watch the moon pass over the skies
As I lay in the life soaked sands beneath
Illuminating the beach in deep crimson
And wait for the oceans chilling tidal embrace
I wander up the coastal line alone
Hoping for a sign of life beyond my own
As I feel the nights chill give way to dawn
I long to bury myself in the blood soaked sands
