Aching Longing
I hear the hum of the horizon scream incessantly
I feel the burning and the yearning of it's mystery.
Anywhere but here, anywhere but here.
If curiosity calls me, let it kill me.
So, with everyone in my life that I had ever vaguely met
Clinging dude unto my arm - a rigor mortis tourniquet.
I take their sordid, cold confessions, and their sorrowful regrets
Everywhere. Wherever I roam, I know, I'll never be alone again.
Take my life away, and start again.
Nothing seems to sway
This aching longing I've been feeling.
I was born in this city
Thought I'd die here too
But the skyline's been changing
And I've grown to hate the view
There's so much life to live, and I lost my lust for it.
I turned a blind eye to the olive branches.
There's so much love to give, but I've given everything:
I set my fires, and I'm fresh out of matches.
Take my life away, and start again.
Take my life today.
This aching longing I've been feeling.
Where I'm going, only the road will know if it's a dream or a nightmare,
So I'll grit my teeth, I'll burn every bridge and then I'll have no choice but to die there.
Where I'm going, only the road will know if it's a dream or a nightmare,
So I'll grit my teeth, I'll burn every bridge and then I'll have no choice but to die there.
