'GOD WILL MAKE A WAY'를 만들게 된 Don Moen의 간증이 나오는 대목입니다.
어느날 밤 늦게 장모님께서 전화를 거셨던 날 밤을 기억합니다.
장모님께서 알려주시기를 내 아내의 여동생 부부가 끔찍한 교통사고를 당했노라고 알려왔습니다.
그 가족들은 콜로라도 州로 스키를 타러 휴가여행을 떠나던 중이었는데,
그들이 탄 밴(VAN) 자동차가 18개 바퀴달린 큰 트럭과 사고가 난 것입니다.
그 차에는 4명의 어린아이들이 타고 있었습니다.
곧 9살이 될 제레미는 그 자리에서 즉사했고, 나머지 세 아이들도 크게 다쳤습니다.
나는 그 비보를 접하고 하늘이 무너지는 것 같았습니다.
수잔과 크렉에게 무슨 말을 해주어야 할지... 그들은 지금 여기 있습니다,
2번째 줄에 앉은 제이슨, 조엘, 존, 마크.
나는 남편 크렉에게 종교적인 위로의 말을 하고 싶지는 않았습니다.
그는 교회학교 선생님이었고 말씀을 아주 잘 아는 사람이었으니까요.
하지만 나는 다음날 다른 도시로 비행기를 타고 떠나야했고,
비행기에서 나는 이사야 43장의 말씀을 기억했습니다.
어떻게 주께서 광야에 길을 만드시고 사막에 강을 만드실 것인지,
그리고 주님께서는 내게 이 노래의 가사를 주셨습니다.
이것이 내가 수잔과 크렉에게 진정 말하고 싶었던 것입니다.
하나님께서는 여러분이 알 수 없는 방법으로 일하십니다.
나는 희망이 없는 상황에 있는 분들에게 소망을 드리기 원합니다.
그분은 당신이 이해하지 못하는 방법으로 일하고 계십니다.
여기 계신 여러분들은 수잔과 크렉같은 일을 겪었을지도, 아닐 지도 모릅니다.
하지만 어떤 분들은 하나님께서 여러분을 잊으셨다고 생각합니다.
제가 이시간 말씀드리고 싶은 것은 "하나님께서 당신을 그의 손바닥에 새기셨다(사 49:16)"는 것입니다.
그리고 그는 길이 없어보이는 곳에 길을 내실 수 있습니다.
I remember receiving a phone call from my mother-in-law late one night, and she informed me that my wife's sister and husband
had been involved in a tragic car accident. They had been on their way to a ski vacation in Colorado when their van was broad sided by an eighteen-wheeler.At that time four young boys were in the van: Jeremy, the oldest, who was soon to be nine at the time,
was KILLED instantly. And the other three were seriously injured.
I remember feeling so helpless when I heard the news that night. Not knowing what to say to say to Susan and Craig,- they're here by the way, sitting right down on the 2nd row with Jason, Joel, and John-Mark. And I felt like I didn't want to say something religious to Craig,because he knew all the scriptures; (being) a Bible teacher in his church.
But I had to get on an airplane the next day to fly to another city.And as I was sitting on the airplane, I remember reading from Isaiah 43, and how the Lord will make a roadway in the wilderness,
and rivers in the desert.And God gave me the words to this song:
"God will make a way, where there seems to be no way.
He works in a way that we cannot see."
That's what I really wanted to say to Susan and Craig. God is working in ways you cannot see. I wanted to give them hope in a hopeless situation. He's working in ways you cannot see.
You may be here tonight, you may or may not have been through a situation like Susan or Craig.But you feel that God has forgotten you. I want to tell you something: God has inscribed you in the palms of his hand.(Isa 49:16) And He is able to make a way tonight where there seemsto be no way.Would you sing it with me together one more time?
