There’s a ladder in my basement
Leading up to who knows where
Maybe takes me to a station
Or a circus in the air
Found a ticket in my pocket
It’s a ticket to the moon
Gonna follow the guitar string
And I’ll get there pretty soon
On a stairway to somewhere
I don’t know where it will end
It could be a mystery
Or a place I call my friend
Stumble on a hidden castle
With a dragon on the door
Gonna challenge him to hopscotch
Never faced one quite before
Maybe climb into a forest
Where the trees are lined in gold
With the apples that are glowing
And their stories to be told
On this stairway to somewhere
Every step is feeling bright
Keep on climbing keep on dreaming
Till the stars are in my sight
