Darkness falls, the earth it shakes,
Thunder roars as heaven breaks.
A silent cry, a wounded King,
Bearing sorrow, suffering.
Heavy steps on stone-cold ground,
Shadows whisper, mocking sounds.
The sky turns black, the end is near,
But love still stands, no trace of fear.
The weight of the world upon His back,
Blood-stained path, no turning back.
Mocking voices, bitter scorn,
A crown of thorns, a soul torn.
They pierced His hands, they pierced His side,
Yet still He prayed, for those denied.
Mercy poured from broken veins,
He bore our loss, embraced our pain.
Hands nailed, the sky turns grey,
Love poured out as He fades away.
He bled for us, He took the fall,
Gave it all to save us all.
Through the pain, through the night,
He brought the dawn, He gave us light.
Through the silence, through the grave,
By His wounds, we are saved.
Death was shattered, chains untied,
Hope is risen, love won't die!
They spit on His name, but He never fought back,
Carrying the cross, took the world on His back.
Flesh ripped open, the prophecy spoken,
Still, He forgave, though His body was broken.
"Father, forgive" were the words that He said,
While the thorns pressed deep in His head.
Darkness fell, but that wasn’t the end,
Three days later, He rose again!
The tomb was sealed, the guards stood tight,
But heaven moved in the dead of night.
Stone rolled back, chains broke free,
Now death has lost, and love redeemed!
The veil was torn, the stone rolled wide,
The grave gave way, death stepped aside.
Hope was born, love remains,
Forevermore, He breaks our chains.
No more sorrow, no more night,
He is risen, He is life!
He bled for us, He took the fall,
Gave it all to save us all.
Through the pain, through the night,
He brought the dawn, He gave us light!
Through the silence, through the grave,
By His wounds, we are saved.
Death was shattered, chains untied,
Hope is risen, love won't die!
The King is risen… The King is alive…
Forever reigning… Jesus, the Christ.
