The world keeps moving, fast and wide
While I fall back and try to hide
I see the lights, I hear the pace
But can’t quite find my starting place
But maybe slow is not the same
As missing out or losing aim
Maybe the road that takes the most
Still brings you where you need it close
I might be late, but I’m not lost
I’ve felt the weight, I’ve paid the cost
And if I walk instead of fly
I’ll still arrive — right on time
I used to chase, I used to run
To match the pace of everyone
But now I see what I ignored
There’s more in slow than in reward
The stars don’t shine all at once
Some wait years to show their front
So maybe I’m just meant to shine
When no one else expects the light
I might be late, but I’m not wrong
This path was mine to walk all along
And if I rise in my own time
Then I will rise — right on time
The world keeps moving, fast and wide
While I fall back and try to hide
I see the lights, I hear the pace
But can’t quite find my starting place
But maybe slow is not the same
As missing out or losing aim
Maybe the road that takes the most
