I dreamed a whale could sail the sky, with steam and wings of steel,
A silver shape that dared to fly, like something near unreal.
It drifted slow, the winds pushed back, the path was never clear,
But every time it left the ground, my heart would rise in cheer.
It wasn’t fast, it wasn’t strong, the sky did not agree,
The air would laugh and blow me down, like waves upon a sea.
I tried and failed and tried once more, but still it wouldn't stay—
So I let go, not out of fear, just knew I'd had my day.
And maybe it won’t touch the stars
Or cross the clouds with grace,
But what I built was part of me—
A mark I can’t erase.
Some dreams don’t fly forever,
But they still leave a trace.
So here’s to me, the one who tried to send a dream up high,
To chase the wind, to face the doubt, to build and then say goodbye.
I leave the skies to others now, but smile at what I made—
A story drawn in gentle steam that time will never fade.
