Both Sides Of The Story (이야기의 두 단면)

Find yourself in the gutter      죽음이 어둠 속에서 낯선자들을
in a lonely part of town         거꾸러뜨리기 위해 무기로
Where death waits in the         무장해있는 마을의 후미진 곳
darkness with a weapon to cut    도랑에 처박힌 그대 모습을

Sleeping with an empty bottle,   술병을 다비우고 골아 떨어진

All he needs is a job, a little  오직 그가 바라는건 일자리와

A neighbourhood peace is shat-   한밤중에 이웃의 평화는

He says she's been unfaithful,   사랑이 식었다고 하네.
she says her love for him has    어린 오빠가 여동생에게
gone                             어깨를 으쓱하고는 말하지.
And the brother shrugs to his    "장차 우리들의 모습이라고."
sister, and says "looks like
it's just us from now on"

world is watching now            온 세상이 지켜보지.
People looking for truth, we     이제 진실을 찾는 사람들을
must not fail them now           외면해서는 안돼
Be sure, before we close our eyes잠들기전 명심해야만 해
Don't walk away from here        그대가 이야기의 두 단면을
'Til you hear both sides         듣기전까지는 이곳에서
한발자욱도 나갈 수 없어

Here we are all gathered in      폭풍의 중심부 같은 곳에
what seems to be the centre of   우리 모두는 모였네.
the storm                        한때 다정했던 이웃도 그어진
Neighbours once friendly now     선에 각각 따로 서있지.
stand each side of the line      수년동안 그들은 여기서
that has been drawn              싸웠지. 그러나 이제는
They've been fighting here for   노상에서 살인이 일어나고
years, but now there's killing   작은 관들이 음울하게
on the streets                   줄지어 있네.
While small coffins are lined    이제 패배속의 단합이
up sadly, now united in defeat   이루어지네.

Ghetto kid grabs his shoulder,   빈민가의 어린 청년이 그의
Throws him up against the wall   어깨를 잡아 벽쪽으로 밀치네.
He says "Would you respect me    그리고 말하길 "내가 이 총을
if I didn't have this gun        가지지 않았다면 나를 존중했겠어
'cos without it, I don't get it, 총이 없다면 난 존중을 못받지.
and that's why I carry one"      내가 총을 휴대하는 것도 바로
그 때문이야."
