Saw a girl
Down by the river bed
Polishing stones
To place on her head
She needed salt
But there was none to be found
She was throwing heat
Into a hole in the ground
She walked to the sea
And sketched words in the sand
But the words were erased
By each wave in her hand
She came down from the river
To gather her salt
She kissed the earth
Three times and crossed
Her head with chalk
She said the salt of life
It ain't worth nothing
But your sugar sir
Your sugar sir is gold
Hold the sun
Up to your heart
And hold a mirror to your soul
