from in between the leaves, the blue streetlight glow
and underneath that beam, your worn weary face
between the housetop eaves, the thin strip of sky
and from that sky you see the people below
is the summer already now past ?
before you know a cool breeze is blowing
and while the seasons so easily come and go
how much more now do we got to love in this way with
such a pain ?
from in between the leaves, a frail, fragile star
tenderly twinkling over your tiny dream
and has the dark come upon us so soon
before you know a warm light is glowing
before my eyes does it always illuminate
but how long before the road runs out, do we have to
travel it down ?
from in between the leaves, the blue streetlight glow
and underneath that beam your worn weary face
